Beacon Bio
Beacon Bio is a joint IPR and technology exploitation venture of the University of Surrey and the University of Sussex. Both universities are ranked in the top 10 in the UK for It is this partnership between the two universities that we consider provides significant scope for Beacon Bio to add significant value to partners' interests. Beacon Bio sources, protects and exploits intellectual property and know-how in the biotechnology sector, present within both universities.
Each university has adopted a commercialisation strategy that ensures the broadest their bioscience research and have access to seed investment funding in excess of £6 million. Beacon Bio functions as the conduit for interfacing industry with the technology present within these two universities. and most efficient release of our technologies into the industry, enabling numerous and diverse applications to be developed and introduced into the marketplace.
Our technologies and IPR are available for licensing or for collaborative R&D partnerships with Industry. The Surrey Research Park and the Sussex Innovation Centre are dedicated facilities present on the campus of the universities for the support of new business and are available to ventures interested in locating to the South East of England.
