Ampath Clinical Trials
We are a South African based, dedicated, central drug trial laboratory. As a division within the Ampath Group, we are supported by three pathology practices: Drs Du Buisson, Bruinette & Kramer Inc, Dr Bouwer & Partners and Drs Swart, Maré & Partners.
Our laboratories are accredited by SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) for compliance with ISO 17025 requirements, and we participate in proficiency testing to ensure quality of results.
Countrywide Laboratory Network
We have laboratories throughout South Africa and offer customers full coverage of the diverse demographic and geographic entities in our country.
HIV Clinical Trial Capacity
Our capacity to participate in HIV clinical trials is enhanced by facilities available at Toga Laboratories. Toga is a subsidiary laboratory within the Ampath Group. Facilities available include a clinical service unit, highly qualified, experienced staff and state-of-the-art equipment.
Pharmacokinetic Testing
Our Analytical Science Department specializes in forensic, occupational and clinical toxicology. They have added a new dimension to their diagnostic capabilities by acquiring state-of-the-art equipment that can also perform pharmacokinetic tests. (HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC/triple Quad, ICP/MS).
Genomic Testing
A new service will be available to our clients in 2004. Genepath, a subsidiary laboratory, will provide extensive, additional genomic and proteomic data extraction facilities. They are in the process of implementing genomic microarray technology to add value to the elucidation of drug action and observed adverse effects.
